NOT
A "SOCIAL WROKER" BUT A "SOCIAL WRITER"

NOT A "SOCIAL WORKER" BUT A "SOCIAL
WRITER"
'Among Science and spiritual
knowledge, one is life and another is knowledge. One is power where
as the other is intelligence
One brings momentum and the other shows
the path
The need of time is to create an auspicious union of these
two and such synthesis would be done by a poet
or a literary author
This was said by our legendary leader and Saint Shri Vinobaji
Shri Jayanti M Dalal, the real man with a golden heart from Kapadvanj,
Dist. Gujarat, Dasha Porwad Caste has instilled these words in his life,
knowingly or unknowingly... He inherited the profound culture from his
parents and spent his childhood days in Umreth, a small town in the countryside
of Gujarat. He was determined to perform the task of his social responsibilities
through out his life and he did it through and with the help of Science
of Acrylics. His indisputable constant endeavors towards fulfilling
his task have always remained praise worthy.
If we ask someone the meaning of C.P., who is involved with social activities,
then the probable answer would be Chair Person or Commissioner
of Police. And if the same question is asked to someone attached
with institutions that work for disables, he would say
. Cerebral
Palsy means a disease in which the child grows physically but not
mentally. Jayantibhai believed that it's nothing else but a SEVA,
an offering to god almighty in one way, while he cared and reared his
unfortunate first offspring, Amit, suffering with this disease. He could
always feel the pain and affliction that his un-blossomed flower of his
flowerbed has to pass through, every moment
and the same very pain
and affliction is reflected in every word of his short story 'VANTOLIO
(means HURRICANE).
At a very early age of 16-17 he began his first work of short stories,
FOOL ane KANTA (means FLOWER and THORNS) and when his first
short novel was published, he was just 20. With the blessings of his parents
he entered into one of the important 'culture' of life, namely marriage
to a beautiful, cultured girl Vasumati, when she was 23 and then on every
moment he was accompanied by her, in the journey of life. Jayantibhai's
determined soul wanted a lot to achieve in life and at every instant he
found his wife, standing next to him, shoulder to shoulder...
There is a proverb in Gujarati that SRI and SARASWATI
don't go hand in hand means WEALTH and KNOWLEDGE
can't stay together. But our Jayantibhai created prose of
a very high literary worth along with an equally highly successful business
in the field of Acrylics. His life depicts a pleasant balance
everywhere. He began his business in 1962 and his first novel TARASI
ANKHO, SUKA HOTH' went into publication in 1966
his second novel
SUNYA na SARVALA was published in 1969 and in 1975 he set
up his large scale business venture, Super Industries followed
by a business Trip to the European and GULF counties and witnessing his
third novel, SUKH no SURAJ UGHSHE?, getting publicized
He created many new unconventional things using Acrylics, like furniture.
He always strived to make Acrylic as commonly accepted as plastics and
his consistent endeavours brought him wealth as well as eminence. In the
year 1980 his modern showroom of Acrylic Furniture and Artifacts was inaugurated
by all time way, while he cared and reared his unfortunate first offspring,
Amit, suffering with this disease. He could always feel the pain and affliction
that his un-blossomed flower of his flowerbed has to pass through, every
moment
and the same very pain and affliction is reflected in every

He always strived to make Acrylic as commonly accepted as plastics and
his consistent endeavours brought him wealth as well as eminence. In the
year 1980 his modern showroom of Acrylic Furniture and Artifacts was inaugurated
by all time legendary superstar Dilipkumar who was also holding the post
as Mumbai's sheriff in those days.
In 1987, Jayantibhai was honored with A. R. Bhat entrepreneurship award
for his outstanding contribution to the Acrylic Industry, which was awarded
to him in a function by none other then the respected Vice-President of
India a, Mr. R. Venkatraman. In 1985, Jayantibhai was sent on a tour to
the countries of Europe and US by the government of India as a One
Man Study Team to study further in the field of Acrylics.
Progress can be accelerated only if the Acrylic Industry is integrated,
Jayantibhai believed and in 1986 he could form The Small Scale Acrylic
Plastic Products Mfg's Association (SAPMA) with the co-operation
and co-ordination of Acrylic Products' Manufacturers. It was natural for
him to become the first president of the newly formed association and
as if to prove his righteous eligibility, he organized the first mighty
Acryplast91, an exhibition and sale event of the international
style and class. He also held the post as president in the seminar held
during the event. As he was always active for the unification of the acrylic
trade and its people, he cared and had vision to publish National
Acrylic Directory, containing all the vital information about the
trade, in 1994, 1997, and the year 2000.
Along with his success and progress in his business he had not forgotten
his first love, the love for literature, and had continued creating his
literary exertions all his life. His insight and scientific approach could
not only infuse life and created a variety of new usage in the lifeless
merchandise like Acrylic but also contributed to the Gujarati Literature
by creating work of literature with all shades of life. One can see the
reflection of the pains and affliction in all his beautifully created
work with the power of imaginations. On one hand his purest work of literature
was well acknowledged by the Gujarati Book Lovers and on the other hand
he could gain love and encouragement from the literary authors and critics
from many other languages too.
His work of 14 novels that reflected the currents flowing within the contemporary
society, where he not only described about the prevailing complexities
but also its solutions, thought and generated with his wisdom and knowledge
has created in him a Social Writer along with an inborn Social
Worker.
His 3 collections of short stories that reflected the human values, culture
and symbolic incidents happening in everyones life has attracted
learned critics of contemporary literary world.
He held the key position as an editor for Kala Gurjari, Porwad
Bandhu and Acrylic News and endeavored to provide the
community with the very best of him and with all these activities, his
determined work of worship
to take care of his son Amit's tender
emotions
The title of one of his novel is SHUNYAVKASHMAA PADGHA and
it seems, he has some delightful relationship with the letter S.
He possesses sympathy, softness, culture, virtue, forbearance- all the
personas, which craft him a true 'VAISHNAVJANA'. And all those who has
met him once, should surely know about his loving nature.
In the year 1997, Jayantibhai's composure life was celebrated through
an event in the form of a Golden Jubilee Celebration. The beautiful memories
of that pleasing event would have surely etched in the minds of Jayantibhai's
relatives, friends and all the close ones. The scripture, Bhavatavi
ni Vaate reflecting the life and work of Shri Jayantibhai was published
on this occasion and a documentary, reflecting his life was shown on this
occasion.
Jayantibhai holds the post of the Lifetime Secretary General in the United
Cultural Convention, situated in the USA and was honored with a series
of awards in the recent years from world's renowned institutions In 1996
he was given the fellowship of Madras's United Writers Association,
in 1997 he received the USA's World Lifetime Achievement Award,
in 1998 Kala Gurjari Award by Kalagurjari, Mumbai and in
2001 BAHRATMATA award by Astrology Research Project, KOLKATTA.
Shri Jayantibhai has truly echoed the words of our legendary leader and
Saint Shri Vinobaji in his life
It would be an accomplishment for this article if even a single life would
learn by following the persona and values reflected in the literary work
of Shri Jayantibhai.
